A Shrek of a Trek - Feb. 3rd

We are excited to be hosting screenwriter David N Weiss, one of Holywood’s biggest names in family block busters movies, David has written Shrek 2,” “ The Smurfs”, and “ Rugrats among others.

David will share his life-story and share some industry secrets in Cayman on Wednesday February 3rd.

This entertaining presentation will take place at 6:30 pm at the St. Matthew's University Lecture Hall, Leeward 3, Lime Tree Bay Ave. West Bay.

The talk entitled “A Shrek of a Trek” is the story of a wild path to success and sanity of a Hollywood Screenwriter. Weiss’s story is a hilarious and inspiring adventure of a nice Jewish boy who spent years as a charismatic church youth worker before returning to his Jewish roots… via a blockbuster writing career.

Weiss also co-wrote “ Clockstoppers,” “ Are We There Yet?” and Academy Award-nominated “ Jimmy Neutron:

Boy Genius.” He was nominated for an Emmy as co-head writer for the “ Rugrats” series and has various other film and TV credits, including the MGM classic “ All Dogs Go to Heaven.”

Having directed several award-winning shorts, Weiss has also written three children’s books, is a member of the Motion Picture Academy, and former vice president of the Writers Guild of America.

He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Eliana, and two children, plus two cats, two birds, a tortoise and Sandy the dog. On the side, he enjoys traveling the world to teach and lecture on writing and religion.
